About Me

Hi, I'm Natasha
I'll find a way to put art on just about anything - canvases, murals, body art, digital art, clothing, jewelry, and more - if it’s a surface, I will paint it!
My work is rooted in the belief that imagination is a transformative force that shapes not just art, but our entire lives.
These days I call Birmingham, Alabama home, but I was born and raised in the tropics of northern Australia. Growing up surrounded by such vibrant flora and fauna definitely left its mark and has infused my work with bold colors, intricate forms, and a deep reverence for the natural world.
I'm drawn to the spaces between playfulness and reflection. Abstract forms provide the perfect place for me to explore those tensions - “What if...?” is a constant companion in both my creative process and in life.
In sharing my work, I hope to inspire others to connect with their own curiosity and ultimately, for us to use our imaginations not just for fun, but also as a strategy for co-creating a more liberated world.
Materials

"My art comes from a place of liberation. To exploit animals in the process would contradict the very heart of why I create."
My art isn't neutral - neither are the materials I use.
Historically, art has relied heavily on animal-derived materials: sable hair in brushes, beetles and horse urine in pigments, glue made from skin, beeswax in mediums, and more.
Although these practices are still widespread today, there's also an abundance of high-quality, animal-free materials—and those are what I choose.
Does that mean all of my materials are currently animal-free? Not entirely. I began building my studio before I was aware of these harmful practices - I mean, who could imagine we exploit animals for art!
So while a few of those older materials remain, they’re the exception. Rather than dispose of them and create unnecessary waste, I’ve chosen to use what’s left and phase them out. They won’t be replaced.
If your curious about animal free art materials for yourself or as a gift for a conscious creator, I recommend these articles as excellent resources:
